Koffin Kats - Wild Ride

The Kats are one of the hardest working bands in the genre today. With four amazing albums under their belt they have definatley taken the Psycho scene by storm.

PsychoBilly: The definition

What is Psychobilly you ask? Well if that last video didn’t do it for you then I guess I’ll have to spell it out. Psychobilly is a fusion genre of rock music that mixes elements of punk rock, rockabilly, and other genres. Psychobilly often references its lyrics to science fiction, horror and exploitation films, violence, lurid sexuality, and other topics generally considered taboo, though often presented in a comedic fashion. Psychobilly is often played with an upright double bass as you saw in that last video and in the others to follow this post instead of the electric bass that is more common in modern rock music. The term has come from the Johnny Cash era where in the song "One Piece at a Time" he had coined "a black psychobilly Cadillac" and it has stuck ever since. Other bands that have notably furthered the evolution of this genre are The Meteors, The Reverend Horton Heat, Sasquatch and the Sickabillies, The HorrorPops, The Creepshow and many more.
